Instructions:

For the cappy slices, prepare the base first. For the base, separate the eggs. Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff.

Beat the yolks, sugar and lukewarm water until foamy. Mix flour with baking powder and fold into the yolk mixture alternately with the snow.

Spread the mixture on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake for approx. 15 – 20 minutes at 180 °C.

For the cream, proceed as for a pudding but replace the milk with the orange juice. Remove a total of about 12 tablespoons of the orange juice (according to the vanilla pudding package instructions) and mix together with 3 generous tablespoons of sugar and the vanilla pudding powder.

Bring the remaining juice to a boil and stir in the custard powder mixture. Stir everything into a custard and remove from the heat.

Spread the hot custard on the cooled base and let cool (overnight if necessary). Whip the whipped cream with the cream whip until stiff and spread on the cold custard.

Sprinkle the Cappy Schnitten with chocolate flakes and place in the refrigerator for 15 – 30 minutes.

Preparation Tip:

Cappy slices also taste great with mango or pineapple juice. If you use a juice from exotic fruits, you can also sprinkle the slices with coconut.
