For the cinnamon oatmeal, melt the butter in a pan and toast the oatmeal in it for a few minutes. Deglaze with milk and add the sugar, cinnamon, raisins and walnuts.
Let the oatmeal simmer for about 5 minutes until the milk evaporates. In the meantime, peel and slice the banana. Pour the gruel into a bowl and let it sit for 5 minutes.
Serve with the banana slices.

If you like, you can also add chocolate chips or other dried fruit to the cinnamon oatmeal.
