For the nut cake, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Cream butter, sugar and yolks, mix in coffee, lemon juice and zest.

Mix flour and baking powder and stir into the yolk mixture alternately with the nuts and beaten egg whites. Pour the mixture into a buttered and floured loaf pan.

Bake the nut cake in the preheated oven at 180°C for about 40 minutes.
