For the recipe Salsa Pizzaiola, first peel and finely dice the onions and garlic. Drain the tomatoes, reserving the juice. Cut the tomatoes into cubes.
Now heat a little oil in a pan and sauté the onions until translucent. Then fry the garlic for 2 minutes.
Add the chopped tomatoes together with the juice, herbs and spices. Bring the sauce to a boil and simmer gently in an open saucepan for 1 hour, stirring frequently, until it reaches a thicker consistency.
Finally, remove the bay leaf seasoning and season the salsa pizzaiola as needed.
