For the poppy seed ice cream, heat the milk until lukewarm. Beat the sugar and eggs with a mixer in a metal bowl until foamy. While stirring, add the milk, place the bowl in cold water and continue beating until the mixture has cooled. Stir in the poppy seeds, honey and a dash of rum.

Beat the whipped cream until stiff and fold into the mixture. Now empty the mixture into the running ice cream maker and let it continue to run for about half an hour.

Serve the finished poppy seed ice cream garnished with plum roast and a mint leaf.

Preparation Tip:

If you prepare the poppy ice cream for children, so simply omit the rum and replace it with the pulp of a vanilla bean. This gives the poppy ice cream a round taste that your kids will love!
