For the poppy seed cake, cream butter, sugar and yolks. Mix the almonds with the baking powder, poppy seeds and the egg whites. Finally, fold in the snow of 3 egg whites.

Pour the batter into a greased and floured cake pan and bake in the oven heated to 180° C with hot air for about 50-60 minutes.

Remove the finished poppy seed cake from the oven and allow to cool.

Preparation Tip:

The poppy seed cake can either be topped with chocolate icing or simply sugared with powdered sugar.
