For the pear compote, wash, core and cut the pears into sixteenths. Add plenty of water (so that the pears are covered) clove powder, the cinnamon bark, a pinch of citric acid and sparingly sugar and bring to the boil briefly.

Rinse the jars and lids with hot water, shake out the alcohol and pour in the hot compote. Immediately put the lid on top, close tightly, turn over and cool under a large towel.

Preparation Tip:

If you like, you can also add a dash of coconut liqueur to the pear compote. Very delicious combo!
