Sift the flour onto a baking board, make a well in the center, pour in the sugar, eggs and spices, then the fat cut into pieces and the almond kernels. Knead all the ingredients together from the center to form a smooth dough and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Then roll out the dough to a thickness of about 4 mm. Cut out round cookies from half of the dough and rings from the rest.

Brush the rings with egg white and sprinkle with hail sugar.

Bake the cookies and rings for 8-12 minutes at 180-200 grd until golden brown.

Then brush the cookies with jam and place the rings on top.


* Linzer Rings:

Cut out only rings from the dough, brush half of the mixture with egg white and sprinkle with hail sugar.

After baking, assemble two rings each with jam.

* Linzer stars:

Cut out small stars from the dough, cut a hole in the center from half of the mixture.

After baking, sprinkle the stars with the opening with sifted powdered sugar, spread the others with jam and put both parts together.
