For the grammel dumplings, bring water, salt and butter to a boil,add 300g flour at a time, stir quickly and let cool. Knead in the eggs and the remaining flour.

Let the dough rest for a few minutes.

Roll out the dough and cut into squares. Place grams in the center of each square and shape into small dumplings with moistened hands.

Place the grammel dumplings in boiling salted water and cook for 8 to 10 minutes in lightly simmering water.

Preparation Tip:

Grammel dumplings go very well with sauerkraut or a lukewarm cabbage salad.
