Ingredients:

For the tartlet dough:

For the cream:

For the glass shards:

Instructions:

Prepare the tartlet dough for the glass chip tartlets. For the tartlet dough, preheat the oven to about 180 degrees.

Grease small tartlet molds. Separate the eggs and beat the egg whites until stiff. Beat the yolks with the sugar and vanilla sugar until creamy.

Mix the flour with baking powder and nuts and add to the egg-sugar mixture in small amounts. Add the beaten egg whites.

Pour into tartlet molds and place in the oven.

Let the tartlets cool down. Cut in the middle and spread some jam on it.

For the cream, whip the cream, add the cherries and pour into the tartlets. Assemble and spread either jam or cream on top.

Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

For the glass chips, simply put the granulated sugar in a pan (preferably coated) and wait (without stirring) until it is liquid.

Put baking paper on it (e.g. baking tray) and brush it a little bit with oil. Pour the liquid sugar on the baking sheet and wait until it is cold (takes only about 10 minutes).

After that, hit it with a clean hammer or something similar once lightly in the middle, repeat 1-2 times (depending on the size of the splinters you want to have).

Simply stick the larger shards into the cupcakes and garnish with the smaller ones as desired to make glass shard cupcakes.

Preparation Tip:

Of course you can also mix some alcohol (e.g. rum, or eggnog) into the glass chip cakes.
