For the Advent cake, mix the fruits (figs, apricots and raisins) with the rum and leave to infuse for at least 1 hour.

Separate the eggs, beat the egg whites and salt until stiff. Cream butter, sugar and egg yolks well. Sift the flour and baking powder and stir into the yolk mixture together with the fruit, nuts and chopped chocolate, then fold in the snow.

Pour the Advent cake into a greased loaf pan sprinkled with breadcrumbs and bake in a preheated oven (180°) for about 50 minutes.

Preparation Tip:

You can either serve this Advent cake sprinkled with powdered sugar or frost it with a chocolate glaze.
